Maya Trishelle - Maya's birthmom, Michelle, picked out Trishelle for her. We honored that name by keeping it for Maya's middle name. Before Maya was born, we knew that she was a girl. One evening, Robert and I were watching Dr. Maya Angelou speak - we looked at each other and we both were thinking the same thing. Dr. Angelou has overcome much tragedy and obstacles in her life, and we hope our Maya, when faced with the same, will come out a stronger person. One meaning of Maya is "reflection" and our greatest desire for her is that she will one day be a relection of Christ, by having Him as her Savior.
Asa Jeremiah - Asa's birthmom, Kim, picked out Jeremiah for him. We honored that name by keeping it for Asa's middle name. Before Asa was born, we knew that he was a boy. Jeremiah is such a strong Biblical name, so we felt we needed to have another Biblical name to go with it. What a tough decision b/c there are so many great names in the Bible! But when we read about King Asa - we knew that was it!
"...the heart of Asa was wholly devoted to the Lord all his days." I Kings 15:14
Our hope for Asa is that his heart will also be devoted to the Lord. One meaning of Asa that we like is "healer"
Proud wife of Robert and proud mom to Maya and Asa. Hobbies - working out, reading, watching movies, & scrapbooking. Favorite travel spots - any place where there is a beach!
